The Kids in the Hood is a 2019 traditionally-animated movie produced by Zimmer Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies, in association with PBS Kids Movies, as well as being distributed by Paramount Pictures in North America, and 20th Century Fox internationally. 5 homeless kids, Lori Loud, Tyson, Lyson, Lincoln Loud, and Nature Cat meet at the streets, the Loud house, and Nature Cat's house, respectively. They form a group named "The Kids in the Hood" while they face their troubles from Storm, Rusty, Beezle and Buck as they team up with The Stuck Adventures to stop them from purchasing a house. It received mixed reviews from critics and grossed $601.2 million worldwide against a budget of $100 million.

Plot[]

In the city in early winter 2017, Lori Loud drives her van by herself. She passes a homeless 11-year-old kid named Tyson, and decides to help him out. Tyson notices Lori has a van, so he decides to let her help him out. He and Lori go to their house to meet Lyson Loud and Lincoln Loud, and she also let them help out with Tyson. They then take off to Sunset Valley to meet Fred the Nature Cat. He wanted to help out with Tyson too; thus being after the events of Rick and Morty Hijack Vanzilla.

They explore a cave, which leads them to Storm, Buck, Rusty, and Beezle. They start the name "weak-starter girl" to Lori, and she challenges her, Lincoln, Lyson, Tyson and Nature Cat into a race with them. However the entire time, Vanzilla has been running on fumes, and ran out during the first jump. This makes her a target for Rusty and Beezle, and she and her van were thrown by Beezle to the finish. Nature Cat remembers Vanzilla ran out of gas, since everyone forgot. Lori and her group push Vanzilla to the gas station and she pays $25 of her $100 to get a full tank.

We reveal the shotgun is a cycle between members: Lincoln, Lyson, Tyson, Nature Cat, and Greg (who joins later on) during the next scenes in the movie. She asks how much money everyone has, Nature Cat has the most with $1,000, Lyson has $31, Tyson has a dollar and 75 cents, and Lincoln doesn't have money of any kind. Later, they go to downtown Central Tysonland and they come up with an anthem and team name. They came up with The Kids in the Hood, and here's the lyrics:

We're the Kids in the Hood!

Yeah, do it!

We're in a van and we're all kids and we can control everything in the world!

Yes, we're the Kids in the Hood!

They end with a woop.

However, Storm, Buck, Rusty and Beezle are watching The Kids in the Hood in someone's car, and the owner, Brian comes up and calls the guys "metal people".  Also, Storm spreads information for The Kids in the Hood while Lori surveys them. Brian thought that Vanzilla backfires, and Lori responds to Brian, with a megaphone that Vanzilla is just fine as a car, and doesn't backfire. Brian speaks to Leni Loud and she thinks that most of the stuff he sees is familar, including Vanzilla and she wants to stop Storm, Buck, Rusty and Beezle.

Later in the night, Lori wants a hotel, namely the LaQuinta Inn, and it cost $110 a night, so Nature Cat will be of order for the hotels until they finally get a house for Tyson. But it was going to end in an race because Storm requested a race with Vanzilla to keep up to the hotel. Lori, Lyson, Tyson, Nature Cat, and Lincoln are hoping not to see Storm, Buck, Rusty and Beezle. They're hopes were shattered when Brian shows up with Storm, Buck, Rusty and Beezle and begins the race. The Kids in the Hood end up winning, and made Storm wish he never started racing.

In the middle of the night, Storm wants to steal Vanzilla, but The Kids in the Hood got traps set up for vandals so he couldn't. They wake up at checkout time, so they packed their stuff and got in the van. It was nearing lunch time, so they went out to get McDonald's. They ate in the car, despite Lynn Loud Sr. not allowing any food in Vanzilla. Lori states that they will get a house soon. Also Storm is on the lookout for his friends, Buck, Rusty and Beezle.

Buck scares him in the woods, and Storm spreads more information of the Kids in the Hood, then they go out and wait for Lori to come. Later at 3:52 PM, Lori finally arrives at the arena to fight with Vanzilla. Storm and Buck fall from the trees to fight the Kids in the Hood. Lyson tells Lori to floor Vanzilla while Tyson is hoping that Vanzilla doesn't run out of gas or stall like in the first race with Storm, Buck, Rusty and Beezle.

Storm and Buck jump out of the way of Vanzilla, because Lori was planning to run them over. Buck surprisingly landed on top of Vanzilla, and dropped down to say hello to Lori and Tyson, who's in shotgun. Lori seeked help by calling Bobby on her phone to help her stop Storm and Buck. He arrives in his pickup and runs over Storm and Buck 25 seconds later.

He tells Lori to find Greg Heffley, and have him join the Kids in the Hood. Tyson worries that they're not going to find him, because of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid universe, but Lori tells him he's in Tysonland, just like Bobby said. At Greg's house, Lori tells Tyson to get out of Vanzilla and introduce himself to Greg. He knocks on the door, and Greg answers it. Greg asks for his name. He then says his name and explains why he has to go. Then his family say goodbye to Greg as they go. Greg doesn't know what they do when they take off, Tyson tells them that front-seaters have the right to say "Let's roll" whenever Lori goes to start Vanzilla.

After, they get called to The Studio, Lori arrives, and the Mayor talks with her, and he announces that he has a house for the Kids in the Hood, and that it be ready in 7 days, and he gives Lori $200 to spend. They decide to get dinner at a steakhouse after the talk with the Mayor. The kids’ total order cost Lori $49.63, and they eat in the van, just like with lunch. Two hours later, they find a hotel called Central Inn. At that very moment, Vanzilla starts breaking down again. Lyson tells Lori to pump the gas pedal, because of his past experiences with Rita and Lynn Sr. In Vanzilla.

It works for a bit, but then it stalls. Lori tries to start Vanzilla again, but it wouldn’t stay running. Lori apologizes to the kids for believing the van is going to start. After the apology, a news van pulls over to record a story for the gang. It is revealed that Lyson has social anxiety during this time. After the news crew leave, Lori tells the kids that they have to fix Vanzilla so they can drive to Central Inn. Lori then discovers that the problem that caused it to sputter and break down was a gas leakage. Lori goes to the store and buys some duct tape and some fuel for Vanzilla while the kids take a nap.

After Lori goes to the store, she wakes up the kids and Tyson and Lyson help put the gas in the tank, and duct tape the tank so that it wouldn’t leak again. Lori sits in the driver’s seat, and announces that they are going to go to Central Inn finally. She pumps the gas pedal, to help merge fuel into the pump. She then starts the van again, but it stalls. This is what Lyson calls a half-start. She pumps some more, and tries again. It works this time, albeit taking 6 seconds to do its job. The kids high-five each other, while Lori keeps the van from stalling until she puts it into gear. Storm and Buck are still alive, so they try to chase after Lori, but she floors it so they fail to catch them.

On the way to Central Inn, Lori announces that the next day they are going to Auto Zone so they can get a new fuel tank. In Tyson’s dream, Lori and Tyson kiss each other, and then he wakes up at around 9:00 AM to watch the morning cartoon The Loud House. Lori wakes up to Tyson’s laughter and discovers that she is Lori Loud from The Loud House.
