Fast Lane 2 is a 2017 action comedy film directed by Justin Lin with a screenplay by Nate Grumer, Justin Lin, and Richard Horwitz for Richard Horwitz Studios and Columbia Pictures. It is the 2nd installment in the Fast Lane franchise. In the film, two years have passed and Paula Hunter is about to give birth to a baby with Gunner Baldwin. As the baby grows up, he learns how to live the good life of Gunner and Enrique but later grows into a criminal like their past lifes and it's up to them to stop him.
The film was released in theaters in the United States and Canada on August 18, 2017, where it received positive reviews from critics and grossed $676.9 million worldwide against a $160 million budget.

A second Fast Lane installment was being planned as early as August 2013. In January 2014, the plans for the sequel were greenlit by Richard Horwitz Studios.
Filming[]
Filming started in June 2016 and wrapped in November 2016 in Miami, Florida, Mexico City, Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Calgary, Canada.

Fast Lane 2 was released in theaters in the United States and Canada on August 18, 2017 by Columbia Pictures where it was rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association. In the United Kingdom it was released on August 30, 2017 where it was rated 12A by the British Board of Film Classification.

Fast Lane 2 was released on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra-HD Blu-ray in the United States and Canada on January 23, 2018 by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. A two-pack DVD set was released of Fast Lane and Fast Lane 2 was also released in select Walmart and Target stores.

As of December 7, 2017, the film grossed $287 million in the United States and Canada and $389.9 million in other territories, resulting in a worldwide total of $676.9 million. On its opening weekend, Fast Lane 2 debuted with a $109.7 million domestic opening, ranking No. 1 for the weekend. In other territories it made $127.5 million, resulting in a $237.2 million worldwide opening. On its second weekend, it made $58.8 million in domestic markets, a 46.3% drop over the previous weekend, but ranking No. 1. On its third weekend, it made $36 million, a 38.7% drop over the previous weekend but still ranking No. 1. On its fourth weekend, it made $17.1 million, dropping 55% over the previous weekend and dropping to No. 2 behind newcome It.
Critical response[]
On review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, Fast Lane 2 reports an 85% approval rating with an average rating of 7.5/10 from 325 critics and a critic consensus that reads "Tackling new concepts, Fast Lane 2 is a step-up from the original movie in every way, including the action." On a similar site Metacritic, the film has an average rating of 79 out of a possible 100, reporting "generally positive reviews".
