Fast Lane is a 2015 action comedy film directed by Justin Lin produced by Richard Horwitz Studios in co-production with Sony's Columbia Pictures. In it, 30 year old Gunner Baldwin and 28 year old Enrique Schneider are well-known criminals in the fictional town of Garcruz, Illinois. They're about to perform their biggest crime, robbing $1.5 million from a bank, but learn how to change their ways thanks to Gunner's new girlfriend, 32 year old Paula Hunter, so that they can stop other criminals from robbing the $1.5 million from the same bank and convince the police they're good guys.
The film was theatrically released on February 20, 2015 where it was met with positive reviews and a worldwide gross of $548 million against a $140 million budget. The film's success later spawned a franchise consisting of two sequels.

Fast Lane was announced on June 27, 2011 by Richard Horwitz Studios, and was originally slated for a summer 2014 release. The voice cast of the movie was revealed on November 26, 2011 and the first draft of the screenplay was written on February 3, 2012. Filming lasted from March 31, 2012 until July 22.

Fast Lane was released on February 20, 2015 in the United States where it was rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association (MPA). In the United Kingdom it was released on February 27, 2015 where it got rated 12A by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC).
Home media[]
Fast Lane was released on DVD and Blu-ray on August 11, 2015 by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment in the United States and Canada. It was later released on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray on February 14, 2016 and rereleased on DVD and Blu-ray on January 23, 2018 in Walmart chain stores for the release of Fast Lane 2.

On its opening weekend, Fast Lane debuted with a $61.8 million domestic opening, ranking No. 1. In other territories, it made $95 million, resulting in a $156.8 million worldwide opening. On its second weekend, it made $38.7 million, a 38.2% drop over the previous weekend, but still ranked No. 1. On its third weekend, it made $21 million, a 46.7% drop over the previous weekend and still ranked No. 1. On its 4th weekend, it made $11.8 million, dropping 44.8% over the previous weekend and ranking No. 2 behind newcomer Cinderella. As of July 2, 2015, the film made $176.3 million from North American territories and $372 million from overseas territories, resulting in a worldwide total of $548.3 million.
Critical response[]
Fast Lane was met with positive reviews. On review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a 78% approval rating from 247 critics with an average rating of 7.2/10 and a critic consensus that reads "Sure to entertain the movie-going audience, Fast Lane is always in high gear and ready to serve a high-flying blockbuster." On Metacritic, a similar site, the film has an average rating of 71/100 from 38 critics, indicating "generally positive reviews".
